population being T08. The number of fatal cases was 10, or 10'3
per cent, of the cases notified. The death-rate per 1000 population
was 0.12; 65 patients, or 67 per cent, of the total cases notified,
were removed to hospital.
A thorough examination was made of the sanitary condition
of every house in which a case of diphtheria occurred, and the
following defects were discovered:—
