Information as to the deaths of Hampstead residents was
received from the Medical Officers of Health of the following
districts, in which the deaths had occurred :—
Clacton. Walton-on-the-Naze.
Edinburgh. Willesden.
St. Albans.
The number of deaths of Hampstead residents that occurred in
public institutions was 240, or 28.2 per cent, of the total deaths, and
the number of deaths occurring in workhouses or workhouse
infirmaries was 90, or 10.6 per cent, of the total deaths. A list of
the institutions in which the deaths occurred is given on page 24.

Deaths at Various Ages. The following table shows the number of deaths at the various age periods, the causes of such deaths being shewn in table IV. and V., pages 136 and 137.
