FACTORY AND WORKSHOP ACT, 1901 (Section 107).
OUTWORKERS' LISTS.
To
The Act requires that, in certain classes of work,* occupiers of Factories and
Workshops, and any Contractor employed by such occupiers, shall, on or before
1st February and 1st August in each year, send to the Local Sanitary Authority
where the Factory or Workshop is situated a list of the names and addresses of
all persons employed by them who do not work at such Factory or Workshop.
This applies to any place from which work is given out, even though there is
no Workshop there.
† The return must be made in the form and manner prescribed.
For neglecting to comply with these requirements the penalty is a fine not
exceeding £2, and in the case of a subsequent neglect not exceeding £5.
Lists should be sent to The Medical Officer of Health,
Public Health Department,
Guildhall, E.C.
* The making, cleaning, washing, altering, ornamenting, finishing, and repairing of wearing apparel
and any work incidental thereto ;
The making, ornamenting, mending, and finishing of lace, and of lace curtains and nets;
Cabinet and furniture making and upholstery work;
The making of electro-plate;
The making of files;
Fur-pulling;
Making of iron and steel cables and chains;
Making of iron and steel anchors and grapnels;
Making of cart gear, including swivels, rings, loops, gear buckles, mullin bits, hooks, and attachments
of all kinds; and
Making of locks, latches, and keys.
