for a stay of execution with a view to an appeal, which was
granted on the terras of the defendants paying the taxed costs of
the action on the usual undertaking of the plaintiffs solicitor to
return them in the event of the appeal being successful. On the
24th May the Defendant Company gave notice of Appeal asking
that the verdict and judgment might be set aside and judgment
entered for the defendants or a new trial granted.
