Housesw Let in Lodgings—Inspection of.—The houses on the
register, to which 53 were added during the quarter, number 586. They
received 2,146 visits, which resulted in 337 improvements being effected
in 170 houses.

District Inspection.—During the first quarter 1,470 houses were
inspected by the District Inspectors, in which 3,503 improvements were
effected. The subsequent visits for the purpose of inspecting work in the
course of construction or for passing it when completed numbered 16,062.

were received into the mortuary, and 110 inquests were held.
