Of spirits 22samples were analysed of which2,or9.1per cent., were adulterated with water. The only spirit sold contrary to the Act was gin.

Iron Pills.—For a long while it has been known that a large quantity of
Iron Pills, commonly called Blaud's Pills, which do not contain the requisite
amount of Ferrous Carbonate have been on sale. Unfortunately however, it
has not been easy to bring the matter into court because of the manner in
