House llejuse.
The following table gives the amount of house and trade refuse disposed of during the
year ended March 31st, 1905. There is a slight increase in both totals. During the year two
fresh cells were added to the Bermondsey Destructor, making the number in use now eight.
In addition, the Rotherhithe Destructor was closed down, since it was found more economical
to deal with the refuse at one place, especially as the Rotherhithe one was so out of the way.
This accounts for the small amount burnt in Rotherhithe.
