shop" Bakehouse, the whole matter was referred to the
Factory Department of the Home Office. H.M.
Factory Inspector visited the premises and demanded
from the occupier the certificate necessary under section
6 of the Factory Act of 1901; as this was not forthcoming
and the use of the bakehouse was continued, a
summons was issued upon the application of Mr.
Bellhouse, H.M. Inspector. I proved the condition of
the bakehouse and the refusal of the Certificate by the
Council, and the Magistrate inflicted a fine of seven
shillings and twenty-three shillings costs.
On the 17th of January, 1906, the owner of the
premises made another application to the Committee
for a Certificate, the application was refused and the
owner was advised to close his bakehouse.

specified in the Order (dated August 15th, 1905) are
carried on to a very large extent in domestic workshops
in this borough.
