Age Incidence of Intimated Cases of Measles, 1903-5.

From this Table it would appear that the disease occurs most
commonly in the third and fourth year of life. It has, however, to
be remembered that these figures are of intimated cases only
(though there is no reason to suppose they are exceptional), and
are not "corrected" as regards population at these ages. Broadly,
however, they represent the incidence of the disease.

The deaths occur mostly in the second year of life, as shown in the following Table:—

All cases of measles and all deaths from the disease are now
investigated, and it may be well to add a brief note as to the
channel of infection in cases and deaths belonging to the second
year of life (when the mortality is highest). In 1905 there were
75 cases and 14 deaths in the second year of age period. Of the
