the Borough in various public institutions. There were, therefore,
1222 deaths of parishioners of Chelsea. These 1222 deaths are
equivalent to a death-rate for the year of 16.5 per 1,000, as against
a death-rate of 15.3per 1,000 in 1903.

Zymotic Death-rate.—The death-rate in Chelsea from the seven
principal zymotic diseases was 1.71 per 1,000 in 1904, the corresponding
rate for London being 2.39. In 1903 the zymotic death-rate in Chelsea
was only 1.26 per 1,000.
