Kidbrooke; 186 of these cases were removed to the Hospital for
treatment. There were only 3 deaths from this disease during
the year. Eight cases, notified as Scarlet Fever and removed to
the Hospital, were afterwards returned as, in the opinion of the
Medical Officer of that Institution, not suffering from this disease,
the diagnosis being in 3 cases Rotheln, 1 Erythema, 1 Varicella,
2 Tonsilitis, and in one case the disease was not stated.
There were only three of what are usually considered as
return cases occurring during the year, which is very satisfactory,
when we bear in mind that the average period of detention of
patients in the Hospitals on account of this disease is being
gradually shortened. Particulars respecting these cases are
