wich also is lower than it has previously attained since the
Borough was formed. Charlton, which had declined from 10.50
in 1903 to 11.56 in 1904 has still further declined to 12.64,
which is worse by some 9 per cent, than the previous year. St.
Nicholas has again declined to 19.53, being a further 8 per cent.
plus the 8 per cent, declension in the previous year; but even
this bad death rate is not quite so high as was the case for the
first two years of this Council's existence. The death rate in St.
Nicholas, viz., 19.53, is considerably higher than the figure, 13.27,
for the whole Borough. The following figures well show the
variation which occurs in the rate in this district.
