The Committee received the representation and gave instructions
for summonses to be issued to close the same. Whilst the
summonses were pending negotiations were opened by the owners
to render the property fit for habitation. At the time of writing the
negotiations have not been completed.
ICE CREAM VENDORS.
During the year 1905 there were 23 inspections of premises
where ice creams were prepared. Necessary cleansing, &c., was
done on the service of intimation notices only.
THE RIVER LEA.
The condition of this river as it passes through the Borough
remains in its usual filthy condition, causing a nuisance during the
hot summer months of the year to persons frequenting the large
open space adjoining it, as also to persons living in its vicinity.
