registering themselves as retail purveyors of milk.
Probably the task of framing a regulation sufficiently strong,
to make certain Russian Poles cleanly enough to retail milk in an
English city has been too much for any of the superior authorities
to attempt, consequently with all his unfitness thick upon him he
is here competing with the native and handling the article of food
most susceptible to his dirt and unfitness. Some slight notion of
cleanliness may probably be evolved as the result of the following
proceedings taken.

The daily inspection of markets and the food exposed for sale
has been continued with excellent results.

fish 20¾ cwt. In other words 1 ton 14¾ cwt. of unsound food was
removed during the year.
