It will be noticed from the accompanying chart that the
usual increase in the prevalence of the disease in October which
has been so marked in Fulham during the past 10 years did not
occur last year.
Of the 293 cases, 256, or 87·4 per cent., were removed to
hospital.
Fatality.—The disease terminated fatally in 24 instances,
the percentage of deaths to notifications being 8·2.
Among the 256 cases treated in hospital there were 13
deaths, giving a case mortality of only 51 per cent., while of
the cases treated at home 1J or 30 per cent. died.
