Report on the sanitary condition of the Hackney District for the year 1887

the faot that on 17 days the thermometer indicated a temperature
of above 80 deg., 8 of these days being in July. The lowest
temperature recorded was 21.4 deg. in November, so that a
range of 67.2 deg. occurred in the Richmond Road during the
year. The table shows that in May the temperature fell to 33.2
deg., or within 1.2 deg. of the freezing point; in September to
36'0 deg., and that sharp frosts oocurred in January, February,
March, April, October, November and December. As before
stated, the mean temperature was below the average in nine and
above it in three months of the year only. The rainfall was
nearly five-a-half inches below that of 1886, and rain fell on
148 days only, against 187 days in 1886.
