To the Mayor, Aldermen, and Councillors of the Borough of Hackney.
Gentlemen,
I beg to present my Report on the Health of the District of
Hackney for the year 1900, and, in doing so, am pleased to state that
in spite of increasing population and density, the low death-rate of
previous years has been maintained. The general death-rate for the
year 1900 is 17.4 per 1,000 living, against an average annual death-
