Notification of Infectious Disease.
During the year the number of cases of infectious disease notified
was 120 as against 85 of the previous year, 1895. On referring
to Table 9 the diseases will be found specified, and the localities
are shown where the cases occurred.
The fees paid to the Medical Practitioners for forwarding the
certificates of these 120 cases amounted to £12 14s. c.d., which sum
is repaid to your Vestry by the Managers of the Metropolitan
Asylums Board.
About the middle of the year a difficulty was again experienced
of procuring admission into the Hospitals of the Metropolitan
Asylums Board of cases of Scarlet Fever, in consequence of a
scarcity of beds, due to the prevalence of this complaint in London.
