The disease seems to become more fatal as life advances, for while between
1-5 it has been returned as 1.1 per 10,000, it becomes 97 per 10,000 in the
period between 35-45, increasing to 23.8 in the next decade, further advancing
to 46.4 per 10,000 in the years 55-65, whence it jumps to 79.8 per 10,000 in the
65-75 period, until finally it reaches the very high rate of 83.2 per 10,000 among
persons who are 75 years old and upwards.
