Forty-eighth annual report on the health and sanitary condition of the Borough of Islington

made during the eighteen years 1885-1902. Of these deaths 148, or 97.3 per
cent., were under five years old, of whom 72 were boys and 76 girls. The deathrate
among children living at this period of life was 0.40 per 1000.
By a coincidence the mortality was identical with that of 1902.
The death-rate was above the average for the borough in Upper Holloway,
Tollington and Lower Holloway, but below it in Tufnell, Highbury, Barnsbury,
and Islington South East.
