Fatality.—There were 43 deaths among 455 cases, which represent 9.4
percent. This is the lowest rate yet recorded in Islington, and speaks very
highly for the manner in which this disease is now treated. The fatality
among hospital cases was 8.9 per cent., and among home cases 11.0 per cent.
The decline in this fatality is so marked that the rates for years 1891-1903 are appended for the purposes of comparison.
