Yet another Loan was taken up by the Vestry during
the past financial year, that of £3,850, to defray the cost of
the installation of Electric Light in the main thorougfares
of the Parish. At Lady-day last there was a balance in
hand of £1,728 8s. 7d. (see page 144), and the liabilities
amounted to £1,177 19s. 2d. Further liabilities have been
incurred since that date, but the Vestry do not anticipate
there will be any charge on the General Rates in respect of
work executed under this Loan.
At Lady-day last the Vestry were negotiating a Loan of
£18,000 to defray the cost of re-paving Regent Street,
Shaftesbury Avenue, &c. Certain liabilities incurred in
anticipation of this Loan have been met during the past
financial year out of the common funds of the Vestry, and
at Lady-day last there was a further liability of
£2,000 14s. 3d. (see page 144).
The amounts outstanding on these Loans and the interest
paid in respect of the same, together with other particulars,
will be found on page 146.
