PERSONAL.
Early in the year the Vestry and the Parish lost the
services, through death, of Mr. Ephraim Tysall, for many
years a Vestryman and Guardian for Great Marlborough
Ward. Mr. Tysall was one of the most respected and
esteemed members of the Vestry, and his loss caused sincere
regret. A letter was addressed, by direction of the Vestry,
to the family of the late Mr. Tysall, conveying the Vestry's
sincere condolence with them in their bereavement, and
their regret at the loss of so esteemed and able a colleague.
Two members of the Vestry, viz., Mr. Harry Dawes,
Golden Square Ward, and Mr. A. L. Liberty, J.P., Great
Marlborough Ward, became disqualified from serving the
office of Vestryman during the year.
Mr. T. Wall, Pall Mall Ward, who had been absent from
meetings of the Vestry for more than six months, expressed
a desire, in consequence of the state of his health and other
engagements, to be relieved of the office, and the Vestry
accordingly, in pursuance of the Local Government Act,
1894, Section 46, Sub-section 7, declared the office of Vestryman,
held by Mr. Wall, to be vacant.
These vacancies were accordingly tilled up by casual
elections as mentioned on page 28.
