not registered. I trust the time will soon arrive when all places
set apart for the lodging of the very poor will be benefitted by
the official inspections, to which the registered houses have long
been subjected. So far as overcrowding went, I was able in two
of these shelters to effect a considerable reduction in the number
of beds provided.
