The total cost for the year of disposing of the refuse is as follows, viz.:—

The scavenging is performed by men employed by the Board and principally by hired horses, only a small part of the work being done by the Board's houses; the carts and vans used are those belonging to the Board and the shoot for the refuse is provided by the Board.
