ON THE SANITARY CONDITION OF
Zymotic Diseases.
The number of cases notified in 1894 fell from 286
(in 1893) to 114; the decrease as shown in the subjoined
Table was due to scarlet fever, diphtheria and
smallpox, while there was a slight rise in the number
of enteric fever cases.
The total deaths from zymotic diseases were also fewer, the diminution being under the headings of influenza, scarlet fever, diphtheria and diarrhœa, while there was an increase under the headings of whooping cough, measles, and enteric fever.
