ON THE SANITARY CONDITION OF
various details concerning the deaths which have taken
place in the Strand and its Sub-Districts during the
twelve months; 527 deaths occurred in the District;
204 of these were of persons who did not belong
thereto, and 170 persons belonging to the District died
outside its bounds; 76 inhabitants of the District died
in Poor Law Institutions, 17 in Lunatic Asylums, and
122 in Hospitals.
Inquests were held in reference to the deaths of 55
persons of whom 41 were residents of this District.
Two deaths were uncertified by either medical man or
coroner.
The ages at which death occurred in the 495 deaths
belonging to this District are shewn below:—
