66 Margarine
Sample procured under the Margarine
Act. Vendor cautioned for selling
margarine without being properly
labelled. Sample was not sold as butter
During the year 1896 errors occurred in the purchasing of four samples, and the numbers 14, 15, 16 and 33 were each affixed to two
different samples. This error in the labels of the samples marked by a second use of the numbers 14, 15 and 16 was discovered at the
time of performing the analysis and. subject to proper precautions, these samples were re-marked by me with the numbers 17, 18 and 19.
The sample marked by a second use of the number 33 was distinguished by me as 33a—the next number having already then been
appropriated to another sample. It follows that the enumeration in the head-line is one more than the final number.
A sample of water submitted to me for analysis came doubtfully under the the Food and Drugs Act, and is not enumerated in
this list.
