Factory and Workshops Act 1878-1891.
The cleanliness, ventilation, overcrowding, and the
sanitary arrangements of workshops are now enforced by
the Local Sanitary Authority.
By an order gazetted 4th November, 1892, but which did
not come into practical operation until 1893, the Home
Secretary made the following Order requiring occupiers of
certain Factories and workshops to keep lists of outworkers:—
SCHEDULE.
The manufacture of articles of wearing apparel.
The manufacture of electro plate.
Cabinet and Furniture making and upholstery work.
The manufacture of files.
