In case of an outbreak, apply at
the Engine Station adjoining the
District Council Offices, or to the Firemen in attendance
at Somerfield Road. Fire-alarm posts are situated as
follows in the Brownswood Park District:—
Queens Road by King's Road,
Somerfield Road by Wilberforce Road, and
Seven Sisters Road by Alexandra Road.
And also near Police Station—High Street.
Fire Escapes are Stationed at Milton Road and
Somerfield Road.
It would be esteemed a favour if Ratepayers will
assist the Council, and consult their own interests, by
giving information of any person seen by them wrongfully
breaking the glass and tampering with the apparatus.
CAUTION! The Council maintaining their own
Fire Brigade, the Ratepayers are requested to avoid
payment to bogus Firemen calling at their houses.
GARDENING OPERATIONS.—Complaints having
been made of the throwing into the road-way, of grass
cuttings, paper, straw, etc., Householders are requested
to see that these are burnt; a Reward of 10/- is offered
for information leading to the conviction of offenders.
