from the Group "Local Diseases," amounted
to 1.63, and in that from the Group "Specific
Febrile or Zymotic Diseases," to 0.12. The rate
from the Miasmatic Diseases decreased from 2.21
in 1894 to 1.89 in 1895. There was also a diminution
in the rate from Group VII., "Accident and
Violence," which was 0.64 in 1894, and 0.62 in
1895.
In Table 21 will be found the rates per 1,000
from Zymotic Diseases, and certain other causes,
for 1895, in Paddington, London, and England and
Wales, contrasted with the decennial mean rates for
each cause. In Table 22 the numbers of deaths
of Parishioners from certain selected causes are
given for each quarter during the past year.
ZYMOTIC DISEASES.
Small-pox.—There were no deaths from this disease
during the past year, the corrected decennial
average being 1.9. It will be seen on referring to
Table V. in the Appendix, that there have been only
19 deaths from this cause during the past 11 years,
11 of which occurred in 1885.
Measles.—The deaths from measles fell from 66
in 1894, to 18 in 1895, the corrected average being
52.5. This disease shows well-marked periodicity,
and judging from the general run of the figures in
Table V., a larger number of deaths from this cause
