Inquests.—In Paddington 195 inquests were returned
during the year, or one inquest for every 9.8
deaths. In all London there were 6,261 inquests,
or one for every 12.3 deaths.
The actual number of inquests held during the
past year on Parishioners was 138, in respect of
which the findings of the Juries were “natural
causes” in 62 cases, “accidental death” in 52,
“death by misadventure” in 6, “suicide” in 15,
“no evidence to show how the death was caused”
in 3. The subjoined table shows the number of inquests
held in each quarter of the year, and the
findings thereof.
