Of the total 92 deaths, only 3 occurred at ages
exceeding 15 years. The remaining 89 deaths were
distributed as follows (the death-rate, per 1000,
corresponding to each number, calculated on the estimated
numbers of individuals living in each group,

Inasmuch as no classification of the mortality
from diphtheria has been made on these lines in
past years, it is impossible to comment on them on
the present occasion. It may be remarked that it
would be unsafe to attach too much weight to the
figures for the St. John's District (standing alone),
owing to the small numbers of both the population
and deaths.
