CAUSES OF DEATH.
In Table III. in the Appendix will be found all
information as to the numbers of deaths from each
class of disease subdivided into twelve age-groups,
separate Tables being given for each sex. From
the numbers contained in Table III. the rates
in Table 14 have been computed. For certain
of the more important causes of death, decennial
figures have been compiled, those for the Seven
Principal Zymotic Diseases being given in Table
V. in the Appendix. In Table 15 will be found
the numbers of deaths recorded from certain diseases
in each quarter of the past year, and in Table
16 the death-rates per 1,000 of the estimated
populations from the zymotic diseases, etc., together
with the average annual rates for the nine years
1885-93, for London and the groups of Registration
Districts making up the Metropolis. Lastly, in
Table 17 are given the numbers of deaths from the
principal zymotic diseases registered in England
and Wales during the past year, together with
certain rates.
