The Corporation of London is the Local
Authority in the City for the purpose of regulating
the sanitary condition of Dairies and
Milk Shops, under the Dairies, Cow Sheds,
and Milk Shops Order of 1885, and the work
of inspection is at present carried out by
Officers appointed by the County Purposes
Committee, supplemented by visits from the
District Sanitary Inspectors.
As remarked in my last Annual Report, this
duty should belong to the Public Health
Department, as the Sanitary Authority for the
City.
