The Birth Rate is high in our dwellings,
viz.: 44.1 per 1,000, as against 14.9 for the
whole of the City, and 30.1 for all London,
and in a great measure accounts for the
correspondingly large infantile mortality, viz.,
170 per 1,000 births.
No births of illegitimate children were
recorded.
