DEATH RATE.
Deaths from all causes registered in Lambeth during 1894, and
properly belonging thereto, number 4848. In this computation
parishioners dying in public Institutions of all characters and
denominations situated outside the boundaries of Lambeth are
included. But non-parishioners dying in public Institutions
situated within the boundaries are excluded. Calculated for the
year the death rate of Lambeth is 17.2 per 1000. The Metropolitan
rate for the same period being 17.8 per 1000.
In the Metropolis the registered deaths numbered 75,262; of
these 46,853 were males, and 44,683 were females. The death
rate in the five great groups of districts is as follows:—
South Districts 19.9
West Districts 18.7
Central Districts 26.6
North Districts 20.0
East Districts 25.1
