The growth, it will be observed, took place in the southern
quarter of the Parish, and is limited to the four Outer subdistricts.
On the other hand, the Inner sub-districts remained
stationary in numbers, or recorded a decline. As no increase
between 1881 and 1891 appears on the census returns in the
populations of the Waterloo Road sub-districts, or even in those
of Lambeth Church, no increase can be admitted in the estimates
of the present year. The figures of 1893 must remain as they
were in 1891.
