Housing of the Working Classes Act.
14 Notices were served under the Housing of the Working Classes
Act, 1890. Proceedings were taken in 5 cases.
Smoke Inspection.
During the year 1893 constant supervision has been kept with regard
to infringements of the provisions of the Public Health Act as to smoke
consumption.
65 Notices have been served chiefly upon manufacturers for reported
infringements, and it was found necessary to summon offenders in 5
instances, when orders for abatement of the nuisance were obtained
from the magistrate; in one case the summons was adjourned sine die.
