DIARRHÅ’A.
During the year 1893 there was an increase in the number of
deaths from Diarrhoea, the number registered being 205, including
eight deaths from so-called Cholera, and exclusive of strangers,
against 167 in the preceding year.
In the Metropolis 3,446 deaths were caused by Diarrhoea.
The disease in Lambeth for the most part proved fatal in
children; 168 of the cases registered are those of children under
5 years of age, and 37 only above that age. July, August, and
September were the most fatal months. 139 deaths were
registered in those which proved the hottest months of the year.

per 1,000. The Metropolitan rate for the same period being 0.81
per 1,000.
