* For statistical purposes, the population is estimated to the middle of the year
on the basis of the rate of increase in the preceding inter-censal period, checked
by the known number of inhabited houses, and by the average number of persons
per house, as ascertained at the last Census.
The data are somewhat unreliable. The Census number, which includes
house* occupied only by caretakers, is given for 1891.
Inclusive of the deaths of parishioners at public institutions outside the
Parish, but exclusive of the deaths of non-parishioners at public institutions
within the Parish.
