its salubrity, and to keep Islington for the Islingtonians. To do this
will necessitate the adoption of the .most stringent precautionary
measures, for assuredly, if they are neglected, a day of reckoning will
fall on this Islington of ours, and that speedily, and then a long farewell
to its good health and its low mortality.
Population.—This was estimated to be 345,008 at the middle of
the year, and is an increase of a little over 1 per cent. (1.1) on the
population of 1897.
