Coming to the consideration of the death-rate for 1899,
it is not so satisfactory as it might be if we look at it from the
point of comparison with previous years, but if we take the
death-rate for the whole of London, we shall find that it has
gone up more than ours, and that we still occupy a favourable
position with neighbouring parishes, which are almost identical
with our own in character, district and population.
