299 in excess of the average. The mortality from Diphtheria was
considerably greater in the East group of sanitary areas than in
any other, being equal to 0.81 per 1,000, the South group coming
next with a rate of 0.51. The rates for the West, the Central,
and the North groups were 0 48 and 0.40 respectively.
