Table No. 13 will show the work of Inspection from March
25th, 1895, to March 25th, 1896.

INFLUENZA.
I regret to state that another severe and fatal epidemic of
Influenza commenced in this district during the second week of
February, and lasted for about six weeks.
It would be impossible for me to estimate the number of
cases which occurred (as this disease is not one of those which
has to be notified under the Public Health (London) Act, 1891),
but from personal knowledge and from information given to me
by the different medical practitioners in the town, it would appear
to have been more prevalent, and certainly more fatal than in any
of the recent epidemics.
Reference to Table No. 1 will show the increase in the
number of deaths from Diseases of the Respiratory and Circulatory
Systems as well as those from Influenza during the height
of the Epidemic.

The following figures show the number of deaths that have been registered from Influenza in the Greenwich District since 1890:—
