this matter because it is well understood that with a larger
population the Death rate is necessarily smaller.
The Sanitary Sub-Committee has continued to meet
fortnightly during the past year, and every case reported in the
Sanitary Inspectors' books has been most carefully considered by
them. Thus it will be seen that their labours have been of no
small importance, and my personal thanks are due to them for
the great interest they have taken in all sanitary matters and the
support they have at all times accorded to me. Of the Sanitary
Inspectors themselves, I am pleased to say they have always
discharged their duties to my entire satisfaction, and I trust that
our combined efforts will continue to merit the approval of the
Board.
I have the honour to remain, Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
HENRY WILLIAM ROBERTS,
Medical Officer of Health, Deptford.
