The Disease showed the highest proportional prevalence in
Hackney, Clerkenwell, Holborn, St. Lukes, St. Saviour, St. Georgethe-Martyr
and Battersea, in which districts the case rates were
higher than in Fulham.
The comparative prevalence and fatality of Diphtheria, during recent years, in Fulham, the adjoining parishes and London will be seen from the two following Tables which give the rates of incidence and fatality of the disease in the several localities:—

BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATION OF SUSPECTED
CASES OF DIPHTHERIA.
The arrangements made by the Vestry last year with the
Jenner Institute of Preventive Medicine for the bacteriological
examination of suspected cases of Diphtheria have been continued,
and during the year 102 cases were examined, in 71 of which the
bacillus diphtherias was isolated.
ENTERIC FEVER.
71 cases were notified, or 5.3 per 10,000 inhabitants, the mean
for the preceding nine years being 4.5 per 10,000.
