HACKNEY VESTRY.

Table X.— Work done by the Public Health Department in houses flooded by the Storm on 21st July, 1897, in the Parish of Hackney.

Rendleshain Road1, 3, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 25, 27, 36, 38, 40, 42, and 46.The floors were taken up in basement, and the accumulation of sewage, mud, etc., removed; the surface under the floors was covered with lime and disinfecting powder; the floors were then re-laid with old materials where possible, new boards having to be used in some cases where the old boards and joists were too rotten to be used again. Total number of houses dealt with; 120. Amount expended on Labour:£66 17 10. Carbolic Powder used: 10 cwt. Sanitas Powderused: 3 tons. Lime used : 6 cubic yards. The mud, etc. cleared away,and the floors cleansed.
