The fines and costs recovered under the Salle of Food and
Drugs and Margarine Acts are paid to the Vestry account.
One summons for Margarine was dismissed, as the Magistrate
gave defendant benefit of the doubt as to whether
label had just fallen off.
In one case for Milk, the defendant left the neighbourhood
before summons could be served. One sample of Milk was
submitted to Somerset House, but, owing to its condition,
could not be analysed. Summons withdrawn.
