During the year 79 notices have been served for the abatement
of overcrowding, and 175 for the cleansing of passages, floors,
wash-houses, water-closets, and the remedying of other sanitary
defects. Nearly the whole of these houses have a good supply of
water direct from the main without the intervention of a cistern
The yards are well paved.
The total number of houses now on the Register is 294, the
same as last year. Sixteen houses have been registered, and 16
registered houses have been pulled down as unfit for human
habitation.
I remain, Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
HENRY THOMAS,
Inspector of Houses let in Lodgings or occupied
by members of more than one family.
